One of my
absolute favorite times of year is awards season and the red carpet special at
this year’s Golden Globes awards did not disappoint! I eagerly watched to see what color trends
would be coming our way this year. There
were some fabulous risk takers who pushed the envelope (think Lupita Nyong’o's radiant orchid inspired confection
dress). I jotted down a few trends that
I observed and some of my favorite examples.

Old Hollywood Glamor: Scarlet Hue, Elegant Cuts
There were some beautiful scarlet hued gowns that exuded old
Hollywood glamor that you would absolutely expect on the Red Carpet. I especially enjoyed seeing the look on so
many different age groups and body types, creating a unique and stunning
silhouette. The passionate and energetic
feeling these scarlet gowns inspire is exactly the reaction I had to some of
these “Golden Globe Color Trend Inspired Interiors.”
Modern Metallics
We also saw eye-catching metallic gowns in modern
silhouettes on some of Hollywood’s leading ladies. Julianne Moore shows just how versatile this
shimmery, exciting shade can be.
Yellow: Cheerful and Feminine
There was also a delightful representation of soft, yellow
gowns on the Red Carpet that oozed style, femininity, and optimism. The various saturations of yellow created an
exciting comparison as well.
Did you notice any trends on this
year’s Red Carpet or have a favorite gown?
