What is the 60,30,10 rule?
The
60,30,10 rule of color is the basic rule of color used in interior
design. This rule applies to selecting color by applying a percentage
to the colors that will be used. The dominant color should be applied to
60% of the space and is usually applied to the walls. Thirty percent is
the secondary color and is typically used on the trim. The remaining
10% is for the accent color in the space. This is a very straight
forward way to decide upon a color scheme for any room. Of course, you
also need to decide whether you want to blend or pop?
